myriads of laws that govern the many dimensions of Family Purity and
they are beyond the scope of this presentation. The intention here is

to offer a brief glimpse of the Family Purity life style.

During the period of menstruation husband and wife should refrain from intimacy together.



After a period
of five days, and having ascertained that the flow has completely run
its course, seven additional days are counted. During these seven days,
periodic self-examinations are administered to ensure that the flow was
not restored.




On the evening
of the seventh day the woman thoroughly bathes n preparation for her
ritual immersion. She then immerses herself into a Mikvah (Ritual Bath)
and emerges spiritually re-energized and pure. On this evening it is a
Mitzvah for the couple to resume relations.
